General Surgery
At LifeCare Medical Center our General Surgery Services provide extensive surgical care for a wide range of diseases that can occur in just about any organ or bodily system that may require surgical treatment, such as benign tumors and malignancies, traumas, gastrointestinal problems, and hernias. Our physicians and care teams are here to assist you every step of the way — providing patient-centered support prior to, during and after surgery.
At LifeCare, we can, and prefer to, perform most surgical procedures using techniques that are as minimally invasive as possible. However, some conditions may demand a more traditional surgical treatment plan. When we are able to, we perform our surgeries as outpatient procedures, so you can go home the same day. You and your doctor will then discuss which sorts of procedures seem most appropriate for your situation, based on your diagnosis:
- Appendectomy
- Cholecystectomy (gall bladder)
- Hernia Repair
- Breast Disease
- Endoscopy/Colonoscopy
- Skin Cancer, ‘lumps and bumps’ (lipomas, cysts, etc., involving skin and subcutaneous tissues)
- Trauma
