About

Tara Ellenson is an Occupational Therapist at LifeCare Medical Center. She provides care across all ages and conditions, with specialized training as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and extensive experience in pediatric therapy. Tara works with children in both outpatient and school settings, supporting development, sensory processing, feeding, and functional skills.

Tara earned her Master of Occupational Therapy degree and a Health Administration Graduate Certificate from the University of North Dakota.

A Roseau native, Tara grew up on a dairy and grain farm alongside her three younger sisters. After leaving for college, she felt called to return home—drawn to the close-knit community, the familiarity of small-town life, and the opportunity to raise her family where it truly feels like home. Tara previously worked in several LifeCare departments during high school and college, making her return to the organization especially meaningful.

Tara’s approach to patient care is rooted in collaboration, compassion, and understanding. She aims to ensure her patients feel supported and heard, focusing on what matters most to them. By identifying their goals, motivations, and challenges, she works alongside each patient to help them build independence and lead meaningful, successful lives.

Outside of work, Tara enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on her two children in their sports and activities, gardening, traveling, listening to audiobooks, and enjoying the outdoors.
