Dr. Allyssa Jonsson is a Family Medicine physician at LifeCare Medical Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota and went on to attend medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. She completed her residency training at Hennepin Healthcare (HCMC) in the Twin Cities.
Dr. Jonsson was drawn to Family Medicine because it allows her to care for patients of all ages and a wide variety of health concerns. Growing up in a rural area, she was inspired by the physicians who cared for her community and knew she wanted to provide that same kind of care close to home. With her hometown of Baudette no longer offering obstetric services, Roseau felt like the perfect fit for her to practice full-scope Family Medicine and continue delivering babies.
She takes an informal and authentic approach to patient care, focusing on genuine communication and understanding each patient’s unique needs.
Outside of work, Dr. Jonsson enjoys spending time with her husband, Adrian, and their young son, Erik. Together they love hiking at state parks with their dogs and discovering great food shared with good company.
