General Surgery
At LifeCare Medical Center our General Surgery Services provide extensive surgical care for a wide range of diseases that can occur in just about any organ or bodily system that may require surgical treatment, such as benign tumors and malignancies, traumas, gastrointestinal problems, and hernias. Our physicians and care teams are here to assist you every step of the way — providing patient-centered support prior to, during and after surgery.
At LifeCare Medical Center, we can, and prefer to, perform most surgical procedures using techniques that are as minimally invasive as possible. However, some conditions may demand a more traditional surgical treatment plan. When we are able to, we perform our surgeries as outpatient procedures, so you can go home the same day. You and your doctor will then discuss which sorts of procedures seem most appropriate for your situation, based on your diagnosis:
- Appendectomy
- Cholecystectomy (gall bladder)
- Hernia Repair
- Breast Disease
- Endoscopy/Colonoscopy
- Skin Cancer, ‘lumps and bumps’ (lipomas, cysts, etc., involving skin and subcutaneous tissues)
- Trauma
High Standards for Safe Surgical Care
Infections at the surgical sight are a commonly known complication of surgery. However, surgical site infections are extremely rare at LifeCare Medical Center, which is a big factor to consider when deciding where to have your procedure performed. From pre-operative care to post-operative care, your safety is always our top priority. While delivering compassionate, attentive surgical services, our skilled teams follow detailed and thorough safety protocols.
