LifeCare Health Care Fund Announces 2024 Grant Recipients

November 12th, 2024 | Roseau, MN – LifeCare Medical Center is pleased to announce the 2024 grant recipients for the LifeCare Health Care Fund (LHCF). Due to the incredible generosity of the citizens in our area communities, this year the LifeCare Health Care family of funds was able to grant $174,890.44 toward projects that positively impact the health and wellness of citizens in our area.

The LHCF provides financial support for health-related projects and services in Roseau County. The fund includes a general endowment fund as well as several sub-funds that support specific purposes, such as cancer care, diabetes and dialysis care, updating and replacing medical equipment, hospice projects, and financial assistance for individuals and families that have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or child.

Below are the 2024 Grant Recipients:

General Endowment |$26,914
$9,600 To Greenbush Middle River School District to update weight room equipment.
$2,946 To Roseau School District to purchase two portable AEDs for sporting events off-site.
$2,500 To the Warroad School District to add equipment to the outdoor playground.
$2,500 To Greenbush Community Partners to install outdoor fitness equipment along the multi-use trail in Greenbush.
$1,800 To First United Lutheran Church to purchase an AED Defibrillator.
$1,620 To Roseau Evangelical Covenant Church to provide workbooks for the GriefShare Programs in Roseau & Warroad.
$1,616 To Blazing Stars Skating School to purchase training equipment on & off ice.
$1,500 To Northwest Community Action Head Start to support their Health Literacy Project.
$1,000 To LifeCare Obstetrics to provide a Perinatal Orientation & Education Program to 21 labor and delivery nurses through online modules.
$1,000 To LifeCare Obstetrics to provide a Mommy Boot Camp prenatal class.
$832 To LSS help cover the costs of those low-income seniors who cannot afford to contribute towards their meals.

Roseau County Cancer Fund | $6,500
$6,500 To LifeCare Infusion Therapy Department to purchase two vital sign machines.

LifeCare Hospice Fund | $5000
$5000 To LifeCare Hospice Program in support of the Hospice Program.

LifeCare Roseau Manor Fund | $15,600
$10,000 To LifeCare Roseau Manor to purchase TV’s for each resident room.
$2,900 To LifeCare Roseau Manor to purchase folding chairs and chair dolly for special events.
$1,500 To LifeCare Roseau Manor to purchase a storage shed for Tri-Shaw bike.
$500 To LifeCare Roseau Manor to purchase Bingo prizes.
$350 To LifeCare Roseau Manor to purchase dry erase boards on wheels for activities.
$350 To LifeCare Roseau Manor to purchase grandstand tickets for Roseau County Fair in 2025.

LifeCare Greenbush Manor Fund | $2,149
$699 To LifeCare Greenbush Manor to purchase Bose portable speaker for outdoor activities.
$500 To LifeCare Greenbush Manor to purchase raised flower bed for courtyard.
$500 To LifeCare Greenbush Manor to purchase 2 gas fire tables & large connect 4 game for residents.
$450 To LifeCare Greenbush Assisted Living to purchase a Bistro set and a bird bath for the outdoor courtyard.

LifeCare Maggi Adams Fund | $12,333.44
$9,000 To LifeCare EMS to purchase video laryngoscopy upgrade to place a breathing tube.
$3,333.44 To LifeCare Medical Center to purchase six 3-year-old Kyle CPR Manikins for the Heartsaver Pediatric CPR AED First Aid class for Day Care Provider Licensing.

LifeCare Eagles Auxiliary Diabetes and Dialysis Fund | $1,593.50
$1,433.50 To LifeCare Clinic Education to purchase materials for new diabetics & 2-day diabetes symposium.
$160 To LifeCare to purchase glucometers & strips for newly diagnosed Diabetics when discharged on the weekends.

LifeCare Think Pink Breast Cancer Fund | $11,000
$10,000 To LifeCare Imaging Services to purchase Trophon2 Ultrasound probe disinfection device.
$1,000 To LifeCare Medical Center to provide promotional items to spread awareness and provide education for breast cancer at local Think Pink Volleyball game nights.

LifeCare Angel Baby Fund | $3800
$3,000 To LifeCare to provide financial assistance to individuals & families with medical expenses who have experienced pregnancy or child loss.
$800 To LifeCare Obstetrics to provide Perinatal Bereavement Education to 8 labor & delivery nurses.

LifeCare’s Partners for Health 2024 Gala | $90,000
$25,000 To LifeCare Roseau Senior Living to purchase a new van.
$25,000 To LifeCare Greenbush Manor to purchase a trailer to pull behind the ranger for residents to enjoy the outdoors.
$25,000 To Warroad Senior Living Center to purchase an electric golf cart for activity purposes.
$7,250 To LifeCare Roseau Manor to purchase TV’s for each resident room.
$5,000 To Wannaska Lions to purchase a golf cart to provide rides at local events for the elderly/handicapped.
$1,750 To LifeCare Food Service Department to provide reimbursement of ServSafe Manager certification to those employed in Roseau County Health Care.
$1,000 To LifeCare Roseau Senior Living to provide musical entertainment to tenants.
