Alan R. Grillo, MD

Dr. Alan Grillo is a board-certified Family Medicine physician at LifeCare Medical Center, where he practices both family and emergency medicine. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine residency at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center in Midland, Michigan.

Dr. Grillo chose to pursue emergency medicine because it allows him to combine his passion for family medicine with the ability to care for critically ill patients. He takes great pride in making a difference in people’s lives during some of their most challenging moments. Drawn to Roseau by LifeCare’s independence, strong leadership, and welcoming community, Dr. Grillo describes joining LifeCare as one of the best decisions he’s ever made.

His approach to patient care is grounded in listening, respect, and shared decision-making. He believes in empowering patients with clear information—free of medical jargon—so they can make well-informed choices about their health.

Outside of work, Dr. Grillo enjoys riding his dirt bike through Beltrami Forest, exploring the Great Lakes with his family, and capturing the beauty of the Northern Lights through photography. During the winter months, he enjoys rock tumbling—a hobby that earned him the title of World Champion Rock Tumbler in 2024.
