LifeCare Medical Center is excited to announce a new program, Camp HERO! Camp HERO is an engaging, hands-on summer camp experience, designed to expose girls to careers in healthcare and Emergency Medical services. Attending this four-day camp will help girls to discover their abilities and interests in emergency medical services and healthcare careers, connect with a network of mentors, and be inspired to take action in making the world a better place through public service. The exciting activities planned will help girls grow confidence and become stronger leaders.

Girls need to know that they are smart enough, strong enough and brave enough to pursue a paid or volunteer career as an EMT/Paramedic, physician or other healthcare professional, police officer, fire fighter or dispatcher. Camp HERO is a hands-on summer camp experience that will be a collaboration between LifeCare, LifeCare EMS, Roseau Volunteer Fire Department and more. Activities will include:

  • Earn an American Red Cross First Aid CPR/AED Certification
  • American College of Surgeons “Stop the Bleed” Training
  • Fire Safety Training and demonstrations by the Roseau Volunteer Fire Department
  • LifeCare Emergency Department tour
  • EMS garage, ambulance exploration and time with women EMT’s and paramedics
  • Participation in a Roseau County Disaster Drill
  • Tour the Medical Helicopter
  • Empowerment/Fun
  • And more!

This exciting opportunity is available to Roseau County girls currently in grades 7 & 8 that have an interest in pursuing a career in the Emergency Medical or healthcare fields. Camp HERO will take place August 3-6, 2020 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau. Transportation from Greenbush and Warroad will be available.
