EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
The ER department is an emergency treatment facility that is
open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is staffed with a
physician or physician assistant and licensed registered nurses.
In addition to the regular medical staff, the ER physician staff
is a group of highly qualified physicians who are trained to
handle emergencies from minor lacerations to multiple traumas
and cardiac aemergencies.
These on-site physicians, who are employed through Wapiti
Medical Group in Wisconsin, enable LifeCare Medical Center to
operate an efficient emergency room around the clock.
Staff members in the ER are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life
support (ACLS) and Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) or
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and evaluate and treat
patients of all ages and varying levels of illness from minor to
critical.
The emergency department staff work with other hospital
departments to ensure appropriate and timely diagnostic
procedures.
